This comprehensive site aims to provide you with one stop where you can find the information and analysis people seek regarding politics in Saskatchewan.
I always work on the assumption that anything from the Fronteir Centre for Public Policy will be fact-free pablum from the far right. Steve Lafleur does not disappoint.
Two major objections.
First, there is is dishonest representation of CCF-NDP history. Despite Mr. Lafleur's revisionism, fiscal responsibility has ALWAYS been a key principle for the CCF-NDP in Saskatchewan. It was no less that Tommy Douglas who said that "It's hard to stand on your feet with a banker on your back." Mr. Lafleur wilfully and dishonestly implies that the CCF-NDP prior to Romanow were profligate spenders. Any serious analyst would know that Mr. Lafleur is telling a whopper.
Second, the idea of having political parties in a democracy is to have give voters choices. Were the Saskatchewan NDP ever to be so stupid as to follow Mr. Lafleur's disingenuous "advice," Saskatchewan voters would be left with the choice of two identical parties of the far right.
Thanks for your interest, Mr. Lafleur, but only an idiot would pay you any heed.
